Rik van den Bergh / Bart van Lier 5tet
Bart van Lier - trombone / Rik van den Bergh - baritone saxophone
Edgar van Asselt - piano / Marius Beets - double bass / Eric Ineke - drums

The line-up of trombone and baritone is unique in Dutch jazz-history. Due to this line-up ànd the musicians who play the instruments, the sound of the band is unheard! Sometimes it is light, sometimes heavy, sometimes hot and sometimes cool .. but always tremendous warm. The band has its roots in the bop of the fifties and sixties but the tree that grows on stage is certainly contemporary. All members of the quintet are playing together with an tremendous amount of love for the music and fun in playing!

The Reeds
photo: Govert Driessen
The Reeds is a unique combination of five Dutch top-saxophonists and one of the most swinging rythmsections of Holland. The saxophone section is a dreamteam. They are all involved with the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw and/or the Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra and this is the first time they play together in this combination. They are not only good team players but excellent soloists as well. They were performing with major colleages like George Coleman, Lew Tabackin, Teddy Edwards, Jimmy Halperin, Scott Hamilton and Lee Konitz to name a few.
